Learning & play
We believe that children learn best when they are happy, interested and having fun.
Learning through play
Our experienced team provides lots of opportunities for children to learn naturally through play and everyday experiences.
Whether they’re building something, getting creative, enjoying the outdoors, sharing a story or simply chatting with their friends, there are always little learning moments happening throughout the day.
Our curriculum
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework, which guides us in supporting children’s learning and development. But for us, it’s not just about ticking boxes — it’s about seeing the excitement on a child’s face when they discover something for the first time, watching their confidence grow and celebrating all those little milestones along the way.
Our topics follow what the children are excited about. One year ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ was such a favourite that it became a whole topic on bears. Another year, stories by Julia Jarman had us rhyming, acting out and making up our own tales!
Our groups
Rather than separate rooms, our 2–3 year olds and pre-school children have their own areas within the nursery, so children can learn from each other. They split into their groups for carpet, story and group times, and both groups are led by qualified teachers.
Led by Jen, a qualified teacher. Sarah, who has been with us since 2006, has a real talent for helping our youngest children settle in.
Led by Caroline, a qualified teacher and our SENDCo, helping children grow in confidence and get ready for their move to school.
Every child belongs
We welcome children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and work closely with families and other professionals to make sure each child gets the support they need.
